Old Roots, New Life
Since 1844 Union Chappel has carried the Gospel across the prairies of Fort Bend County—first as a frontier meeting-house, now as a revitalized Global Methodist congregation serving modern-day Fulshear.
Our Heritage
Union Chappel began when Methodist circuit-rider Rev. John Patton gathered settlers at “Union Chappel” near the vanished community of Pittsville in 1844. Seven years later landowner Churchill Fulshear Jr. deeded six acres along Harris Street so the growing congregation could relocate to the new railroad town bearing his family’s name. Through fires, rebuilds, and name changes, the church remained a steady spiritual home—eventually known as First Fulshear Methodist. In 2025, First Fulshear and WordServe Church united under their historic name, launching a fresh season of ministry as Union Chappel.
Our Vision Today
We exist to help every generation discover Jesus, grow in authentic community, and live sent to bless Fulshear and beyond. Anchored by nearly two centuries of faithful witness—and energized by the movement of the Holy Spirit—we invite you to join us as we build the next chapter together.
